Thengaipaal Murukku:
There are different varieties in Murukku. I wish to share Thengaipal Murukku which is different in taste compared to other rypes..In this type ,coconut milk is the important ingredient which adds good taste and odour to the snack.
Kids will luv it a lot. I'm sharing the exact proportion. Try and share your valuable comments without fail.
Thengaipal Murukku:
Ingredients:Rice(raw rice)-1200gms,Greengram dal-400gms,gingelly-2tsp,Coconut milk-2cups,salt to taste,oil,water.
Preaparation of flour needed to make this murukku"
1.Fry GG dal in an empty pan for 5min. and keep aside.
2. to the given qnty of rice add this fried GG dal and grind in the machinary to a fine powder and filter it.
Preparation of Coconut milk:
1.Grate the coconut and extract milk to get two full cups by adding water in the mixer grinder.
2.Heat this milk in the stove and keep aside.
Making of dough:
1.Place the filtered flour in a large basin.
2.Pour gingelly and mix well.
3.Dissolve reqrd. amt. of salt in the hot water.
4.By adding this hot salt water and hot coconut milk mix well to get the consistancy needed to make murukku.
5.Place this dough in the murukku making tool called achu with star shaped thagadu and squeeze on the ladle.
6.Place a pan with oil on the stove and heat it.
7.Place the squeezed murukku in it and turn.
8.Fry for a min and take out.
9.Keep on the tissue paper.
10.Crispy,tasty coconut milk murukku is ready to eat.
This is one of the fav.south Indian snack made during Diwali time.Children will like it as it gives a little sweet taste bcoz of coconut milk.It will last for a month if placed in an air tight conatiner.
