Tomato Masal Rice:
Ingredients: Finely Cut Tomato-6,red chilly powder-2tsp,red chilly-4,spilt green chilly-5,lengthwise cut big onion-2,small onion-10,grated coconut-1cup,ginger-small piece,garlic-10,aniseeds-2 oil,salt to taste,turmeric powder-a pinch,curry leaves,corrionder leaves,ghee,cooked rice-3cups. To grind masala: Place grated coconut,red chilly,6 garlic,ginger,4 small onion,ani seeds(Sombu) in a mixie jar and grind to a fine paste. Keep it aside. 1.Place a thick bottomed pan on the stove and heat. 2.Pour 4tsp ghee and 2tsp oil and heat.To it put remaining small onion,garlic,cut onion and fry till brown. 3.Put curry leaves,cut tomato and mix well.Keep it till the tomato cook well.It will take 15min. 4.Put salt,turmeric powder,red chilly powder and mix well.Keep it for 5min. 5.At this stage add the ground paste and mix well. 6.Stirr occasionally till the water drains and becomes dry. 7.When this substance obtained in a semisolid state take it from the stove and allow to cool. 8.Take the cooked rice in a large bowl. 9.Add this substance on it and mix well with the rice by adding ghee and salt(if needed). 10.garnish with corrionder leaves. Delicious tomato masal rice is ready to enjoy. Onion raitha,chips are the best combination for this rice. |
