Fenugreek Dosa


South Indian Recipe:
Vendhaya Dosa with Poondu Chutney: (Fenugreek Dosa with Garlic chutney)
Ingredients:
Boiled rice-1200gms.,Fenugreek-100gms,salt,Urad dhal-2tsp., toor dal-1tsp.
Method of making batter for Vendhaya dosa.
1. Soak boiled rice with urad dal in water for 4 to 5 hrs. Soak fenugreek with toor dal in water for 5 to 6 hrs.
2.Grind rice and fenugreek separately in grinder.Mix both with required salt.
3. This batter should undergo fermentation for 8 to 9 hrs.
The batter is ready to make dosa.
Keep the tawa on stove and heat. Take a ladle of batter and spread on it and cook for a min. by pouring oil. Turn it, cook and take it off.
Serve hot with Garlic chutney which is a perfect side dish for it.
Methof of making Poondu chutney:
Ingredients:
Garlic-10clovets, Red chilly-20 nos., Salt, Grated coconut- 1 cup.
Grind red chilly and salt at first without adding water in the mixer grinder. Then add Garlic and grated coconut and grind to paste.
This gives best taste if you grind in hand mortar.
Compared to ordinary dosa, it is very good for health since fenugreek cools our body and hence have it twice a month so that it reduces all the heat from your body and maintain upto level. Kids will love it a lot. For Kids, give it with Ghee.Try and share your opinion.
